In a satirical combination of two end-of-the-world scenarios, a zombie plague is quickly followed by an alien invasion - in a time when humanity is already struggling with vampires.

Landing dead center at a college campus swarming with zombies, the aliens soon realize that their abduction mission is going to be quite a bit more complicated than they'd imagined. The presence of vampires only makes the situation worse.

Will the human race prevail or be forced to relocate to an alien planet? Is there any way to reverse the zombie plague? Is the plague contagious to aliens and can an alien be turned into a vampire? What if a vampire alien became a zombie, then was bitten by a radioactive spider and then possessed by the ghost of a robot werewolf? That last part doesn't happen in the story, but what if it did?

Find out what becomes of humanity in this hodgepodge of dystopian absurdity.

Alien Invasion of the Zombie Apocalypse edition by Ford Forkum Humor Entertainment eBooks

Alien Invasion of the Zombie Apocalypse tells the tale of a species of bored aliens who spin a wheel to decide which planet they want to invade. Well, guess what lucky planet the wheel landed on this time. Yup, good ol' Earth. Unfortunately for the Zyrplexians, they pick the wrong day to pick on on the third rock from the Sun and their plans go awry, to say the least, and that's all I have to say about that. For more, read the story, it's much more fun that way.

This is goofy, humorous, absurd satiric short story that doesn't require any deep thinking to read. The ragtag group of characters aren't written about in any great depth and the plot might rocket by, but that's part of the story's charm; there's no reason these need to be more fully explored (unless it ever expands into a full-length book, naturally). Besides aliens, zombies, and humans, vampires also poke their non-sparkly heads into the fray too. It's a silly bit of fun that I had a great time reading, with the occasional guffaw bursting forth at a one-liner or nutty situation.

If you like passages such as these:

From inside the warship, they hardly looked like a rabble of troublemaking thugs. They appeared more like a bunch of uniformed teddy bears on a cheer-up mission to planet Lollipop, where they would launch an attack of hugs.

or

"I never would have imagined that if vampires turned out to be real, I'd be more repelled by their personalities than their appetite for human blood."

...enjoy B-movies, and adore alliterations (all of which are right up my alley), then you might enjoy this off the wall story and the harmless, campy entertainment value it provides.

Alien Invasion of the Zombie Apocalypse edition by Ford Forkum Humor Entertainment eBooks Reviews

Part B-movie and mostly satire with a heavy dose of subtle sarcasm, this story has a nicely coherent and somewhat more complex plot than you might think. It's hilarious for the half-hour or so it takes to read it.

As promised, it does indeed give us aliens and zombies, as well as vampires and humans all jumbled up together in a giant mess. I rolled my eyes at some parts (okay, several), but really, you can't help but be pulled into the adventure. There's even an obligatory romance of sorts. Is there a happily ever after? Sort of. And not.

If you need to get over a rough work day or just want to escape reality and embrace the absurd for a little while, grab your favorite teddy bear, a fermented beverage and this short story for a quick head trip that will leave you dazed, but not necessarily confused.

As a point of disclaimer, I am digitally acquainted with Ford, and thus unabashedly biased because I like the guy. I'm eagerly waiting for his next book...
I had a good laugh while reading this hilarious account of what a Zombie Apocalypse would look like if mixed up with aliens and vampires. As a lover of irony and subtle sarcasm, I have really enjoyed this story of these very intelligent aliens who decide to invade Earth just because they are bored. The way they chose which planet to invade was very funny too (but I won't say it here, I don't like spoilers). So, what do you think that aliens, zombies, vampires, and college students have in common? Not a clue. Read this short story and you will discover it. My only problem with this story was that it feels too short; I mean, it really has a lot of potential to be turned into a novella, and I would have loved to see that. But it is a very recommendable story to read if you want to have a good chuckle.

Will humanity survive the dystopian absurdity?

My Thoughts The tone of this book reminds me a great deal of the works of Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams. This is an extremely silly little tale, but lots of fun to read for those of you who, like me, enjoy the extremely silly.

Mashing together a vampire infestation, zombie uprising, and alien invasion, you'll laugh at the antics of the aliens, roll your eyes at the vampires, and generally wonder WTF this guy was on when he wrote it - but you will definitely enjoy the ride. Recommended if you like to laugh (and who doesn't?).
